FAQs

Do you massage children?

Unfortunately, I do not massage children under that age of 16 years old.

Where will my massage session take place?

I offer in-home service (where I come to you) and I also see clients in my studio.

What should I expect during my first massage therapy visit?

I will do a brief health intake with you to find out what areas you would like to focus on, preferred levels of pressure, allergies and contraindications that I need to aware of before beginning our session. This will only take a few mins. And then we will begin your massage.

What do I wear during the massage?

For a full body massage, most people undress completely. However, you may choose to wear underwear. I will give you privacy to undress, and you will be covered with a sheet and blanket at all times except the area being worked on.

What do I do during a massage therapy treatment?

Just make yourself comfortable. If I need you to adjust your position, I will either move you or will ask you to move what is needed. Otherwise, you can change your position anytime to make yourself more comfortable. Do not hesitate to ask questions at any time.

How will the massage feel?

In a general Relaxation massage, your session may start with broad, flowing strokes that will help calm your nervous system and relax exterior muscle tension. As your body becomes relaxed, pressure will gradually be increased to relax specific areas and relieve areas of muscular tension. Often, a light oil or lotion is used to allow your muscles to be massaged without causing excessive friction to the skin. Do not hesitate to ask questions or mention if you feel any discomfort so that I can adjust the level of pressure or technique.

Will the massage oils used make me break-out?

All of lubricants that I use during massage are hypoallergenic massage oils or lotions. However, if you have sensitivity to certain types of oils or lotion please let me know so that I can offer you option that best suits your needs.

Is a massage always appropriate?

No, there are several medical conditions that would make massage inappropriate. That's why it is necessary that you fill out the health history forms and before you begin our session. I will ask general health questions to rule out if you have any contraindications to massage. However, It is very important that you inform me of any health problems, injuries, recent surgeries or medications currently in use. And If you are under a doctor's care, it is strongly advised that you receive a clearance from your physician for massage prior to any session.

How long will a massage treatment last?

Your massage starts when you lay on the table. However, I do ask that you allow for time prior to your massage to conduct your general health intake and allow for time after the session for any follow up questions or bodywork recommendations.

How will I feel after the massage therapy treatment?

My goal is to help you feel better than you did before your massage. Some people feel more relaxed, others feel energized and some people feel and overall relief from tension and pain.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept cash, credit and debit via Square along with payment transfers via Paypal and Venmo.

Do you offer a sliding scale rate?

I do not offer a sliding scale rate but I do offer an need-based community wellness rate for individuals who meet a simple criteria. Please email me for more info. It’s a super easy honor system that allows me to provide bodywork to more people.
